![]() The writers suggested that Tyler was only playing up the Sam character. And I just paraphrased the tweet basically: the tweet in question.Īnd here are the articles I misremembered as an interview years ago: I found it just now after a few searches, and it wasn’t an interview, it was a few articles based on a tweet Tyler made in 2016 about WOLF. Originally I wanted to find the interview I saw this comment of his in so I could link to it, but I couldn’t find it then. The low theme of the song doesn’t get better with the horrible auto-tune part. I thought Tyler was over pitching his voice on Golbin & Bastard but apparently not. First time I heard it, I never would’ve guessed it was him. The only thing saving this from #18 Is Tyler and (Believe it or not) Taco. LB, Jasper, and Lucas killed it, not in a good way. I don’t know what to do to this track to make it better, I just don’t like it.ġ7) Trashwang. Although it’s satisfying to listen to, it doesn’t fit my style of music. this track has the best beat, but it’s too slow and frustrating to listen to.ġ4) Domo23 I feel like Tyler tries to execute another Tamale-like song, but he doesn’t nail it.ġ5) Treehome95. Tyler’s first verse is golden and Mike G’s part is good too.ġ3) IFHY Overrated song. If it weren’t for the some-what generic beat, this song would be higher up. The darkest song on the album, Sam talks about his past over a grimey beat and it’s a good track.ġ2) Parking Lot. Campfire is the best in the trio, after Bimmer.ġ1) Pigs. Slow songs (Besides Bimmer) that we aren’t used to. The second half I lose my interest a bit.ġ0) Partyisntover/Campfire/Bimmer. The lyrics are good and the beat is wonderful. It’s a smooth song with a great message.ĩ) Slater. ![]() Funny, and perfectly cut to proceed 48.Ĩ) 48. The beat change, lyrics, and quality make this satisfying to listen to.ħ) Colossus. This track is great from start to finish. This used to be my least favorite song on the album because of the whole ¨Domo roll another one¨ Line that I find annoying, but besides that great track with a great use of a sample.Ħ) Cowboy. The fact that it’s a huge suprise and turn-up after the WOLF intro, the beat, Hodgy, it’s an awesome track.ĥ) Lone. What’s there not to like about this track. The hook, beat, and don’t forget the music video, make this a classic.Ĥ)Jamba. A fuck around song that is the closest to Goblin that Tyler gets into. You think the song is gonna end, but there’s more, beautiful.ģ) Tamale. Personal song that has so much meaning put into it. The simple, yet catchy beat, Tyler’s long ass verse, & its contribution to the story-line makes this my personal favorite of the entire album.Ģ) Answer. Amazing collaboration with Domo and Earl. Tyler, The Creator has delivered his best album to date, and perhaps the best release out of any Odd Future member thus far (yes, that includes Frank Ocean. Here’s my personal list, don’t fucking crucify me for this.ġ) Rusty. The album has a little something for everybody you have your hype tracks, personal tracks, and experimental tracks like the epic "PartyIsntOver/Campfire/Bimmer", and the very worldly "Tamale". The album as a whole doesn't come without it's missteps, but they're so overshadowed by what Tyler does right here that it doesn't even matter. Sure, you get a few of the typical Odd Future songs like "Trashwang", and "Domo23", but it's the other songs like "Answer", "48", and "Colossus" that show Tylers' improvement as a lyricist, and growth as an artist by digging deep into himself and giving us a Tyler we haven't seen too often before. To go along with his progression in producing, his lyrics and subject matter have also improved. This is not a problem on Wolf though, and ultimately, the production is some of the best we've heard on any Odd Future release to date. His previous album, "Goblin" has some great beats/instrumentals, but ultimately was plagued by sloppy mixes in many of the songs. Tyler, again, produces every song on the album, and in doing so, has once again shown even more potential beyond just rapping. Tyler, The Creator has most noticeably done two things progressed and matured as an artist. "Wolf", the third studio album from arguably the most popular member of the Hip-Hop collective, Odd Future, fully delivers on all fronts.
